Scar Tissue

January 1st My year started with sounds blaring through my headphones and quite frankly the inebriation left me slightly numb. “Scar Tissue” by The Red Hot Chili Peppers appeared to be the focal point of ushering in the new year with nothing but promise. The beverage in my cup served the purpose of filling a void and the short excursions to the grocery store were reminders of the somber feeling that separates the past from present. There were silhouettes of long shapely legs along with the sound of fireworks which served as a filler between bits of silence.
