Missing Time
The blade was in Kate’s hand. The panic instantly overwhelmed her. Her eyes darted around the room, trying to grasp her bearings. At first, she had no clue where she was or why she had a knife in her hand. At least it was clean. At least she had not hurt anyone or herself. As Kate was slowly able to focus and take in her surroundings, she realised that she was crouched in the corner of her attic. Hiding behind her plastic boxes full of Christmas decorations.

Watching the grandkids helping me clear out the cupboards warmed my heart. Yes, they were being bribed with money and chocolate to do so, but still it made me smile. The youngest one trotting around in my old high heels, the other two pottering around looking for anything they could keep.

The Walk
Getting away from the city is always a welcome change. The chance to breath in fresh air. Air that is so cold that I can feel a slight burn as it travels down my airways. I love wandering through these small villages, the manicured gardens, the uniform nature of each house. But most of all the quiet.
