'Okay, I've got the one contract in about three hours and there is the marking I should finish up with the college and what about the class that they promised me on Wednesdays and Fridays starting this month, like it is already November and they said that I had a good chance of getting at least one more private one online and maybe in class (they pay more, she said), oh god, why do I do this to myself when I have free time and there is nothing else to do but have the guitar around and play and check those scales again and it seems like it needs to be re-tuned but that can wake and what about the weather today I should probably go for another run and see if the pain in my right calf is gone for good - some ibuprofen would help; do I have any right now? - it would probably be a good idea to read something now and then have something ready for dinner before I went out the kitchen is a real mess and there isn't much in the cupboards right now...

The Who vs. Led Zeppelin
Okay, boys and girls, you have indicated through your clicking of the little Valentine heart and comments that you like it when I post these types of articles comparing one thing with another (Drug Dealers vs. Banks; Montréal vs. Toronto, etc.), so here is another one for you and yours: two powerhouse groups - one that I have loved from the moment I heard them, and the other a group it took me years to appreciate...and still have my doubts about while I accept their fame.

Basic Training
Note: I wrote this opening chapter as part of a challenge with a separate online page. I wondered if I would win by entering into the mind of a drill sergeant dealing with new recruits and introducing them to their weapon. The language is very rough, as it has always been with military training. It is necessary for the mentality that the average soldier will need for facing combat and the possibility of death.
