My parents were dedicated to their faith, attending church regularly, and emphasizing the importance of living a righteous life. However, their devotion sometimes crossed the line into judgmental behavior. They disapproved of some of my friends, causing me to feel torn between obeying my parents and the urge to follow my own path.
