I am Kelechi Godstime, and my story is one of resilience forged in the crucible of hardship. Growing up in the heart of Igbo land in eastern Nigeria, I was raised in a family of five. My father, a hardworking man, and my mother, a dedicated homemaker, did everything in their power to ensure that my two younger siblings and I had everything we needed. Despite their best efforts, financial hardship was a constant companion, and the idea of privilege seemed like a distant dream. Yet, through it all, the one thing they gave me was an unbreakable sense of hope.
