Surprise Vacation

I'm sitting in my room when I see my phone light up. When I check it I see a message from Logan.It was a message that said “ Hey! It's nice outside. I think you should go out and get some fresh air. I know things have been tough lately but maybe a few minutes of fresh air would do you some good.”. I decided it was time to get out of bed and spend some time outside. I’ve kept myself stuck in this room for a few days now. After testing positive a second time for covid and having my depression hit at the same time which caused me to let it take over my whole body. I hadn’t been out of my room let alone outside in 3 days. I threw a sweatshirt and some gray sweats on then headed outside. As I walked upstairs I looked out the window and saw a truck that I'd never seen before. As soon as I opened the door that's when I saw him. Logan. This tall and handsome man was standing in front of me. Out of surprise I freeze in my tracks. When he notices he starts walking towards me. Clearly I'm panicking on the inside but I begin to cry. The closer he gets the more I cry. The man that I fell madly in love with 11 months ago is now walking to me on the sidewalk in front of my house. It all felt like a dream. But before I knew it he was wrapping his arms around me and I was wrapping mine around him. In that moment I realized that's the safest ive ever felt and that I don't want this feeling to ever end. I was like a puddle just melting into his arms. Letting the love and feeling of being safe take over any other feelings I have. All of my troubles and problems are just fading away. This was the first hug that I never wanted to end. I'd had hugs before but they were too awkward and didn’t feel right so I tried getting out of them as much as I could but not this hug. This hug was the most magical hug I'd ever gotten. After begging god for this hug to never end I felt his grip loosening. Before fully pulling away he moved his hands up to my face and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead. He never fully pulled away. Keeping the space between us small but giving enough room to think clearly. The smell of his cologne took over my ability to think. Our eyes never left each other, and our heart beats synced. Seconds felt like hours but still it was never long enough. When I was able to finally clear my head I had to ask “What are you doing here? You said you were going out of town and would be busy for at least the next week and with not really being able to predict what's going to happen you also said that you didn't know how much you would be able to talk.” continuing to just look at him completely speechless after getting the only words I could think of to barely slip out. After a few seconds of trying to figure out the words to say he says “Well baby girl, yes I am going out of town, but I'd like you to join me. I have a surprise vacation planned. Everything is all lined up and you don't have to worry about or plan anything. Do you remember when you sent me a message saying that you want us to go on a vacation where it was just me and you, no one else? Where we spent time together and find out who we really are together. Well, that's happening. I called your work and talked to Jerry. He is allowing you to take 2 weeks off of work with pay so you don't get behind on your bills. How does that sound?” the hope of me saying yes growing in his eyes. I looked at him confused and said, “Wait you said 2 weeks but said we are only spending a week on vacation?” The smile on his face grew by the second “The second week of your vacation is you coming back and staying with me for a week or longer if you want. I can show you around and let you meet everyone. We can plan the future and see how we want things to start moving forward from here. I know things have been tough lately and that you deserve to be happy. I want to help you be happy.” ending with a smile. My heart felt like it was going to jump out of my chest and hug him for me if I didn't hurry up and hug him myself. With tears falling from my eyes and confusion taking over his face I gave him the biggest hug I'd ever given someone. Now to say I was in complete shock didn’t describe the feelings I had. Not only is he finally standing in front of me after almost a year of dating and knowing each other but he has this whole trip planned out and has more than one surprise for me. He even went as far as to call my boss and get 2 weeks off with pay. When I realized that I had been blankly looking at him for what seemed like an hour he had a very worried look on his face. As soon as I saw the worry in his eyes, I stepped forward almost to the point of hugging him again, placing my hands on each side of his face and said “Yes! Of course…”.
