Hi! Throughout my life I have always loved a good story. From books, to films, to video games. I was always captivated by a well told story, and have been inspired to write my own. So I will be putting short stories I have written on here.

The Question of Price.
It was midday as visitors passed through the large iron gates which signified the main entrance into Doland. Heavy traffic was no stranger to the guards who were tasked with keeping the main gateway safe and orderly. Carriages as well as caravans passed through, a typical sight on any given day. What the guards on duty found quite unusual, was a single lone rider. A man mounted atop a white mare approached the gate, expertly maneuvering his stead between obstacles. As he approached the guards got a better look at him. This man wore a long dark leather coat, with a single sword hilt visible from his right shoulder. His pants as dark as his coat, a blue tunic completed his outfit. Atop his head rested a dark modest traveler's hat which protected his rough elegant face from the sun. His eyes, blue as the sea, met the ranking officer at the gate. This traveler tugged on the reins slowing his pace to a stop, “good day” his voice was soft with a slight hint of wearnies.

The Dawn of Calamity
Of the many myths and legends throughout Fal’Ardin. There has only ever been one prophecy. It foretells two children, both lost souls and polar opposites. One is a little girl of pure heart and innocence, who will be raised and nurtured by a Dragon from the heavens. The other is a boy whose heart will be filled with hate and malice, who will be raised by a Dragon from the earth. One child is said to bring about peace, while the other will bring ruin. Said to awaken a Great Wyrm, the father of evil who breeds destruction. The prophecy foretells war, and that these two destined children will face each other.

A Stranger Comes Calling.
Snow fell hard this harsh winter night as a lone rider pushed his steed down the forest pass. He was nearly covered from head to toe in fresh snow, as was his horse Luka. A fine black stallion, and his most loyal companion. In truth his only companion, for in his profession it was not uncommon to travel alone. The pair traveled at a steady safe pace, with the only source of light coming from a lantern strapped to saddle bags. Further up ahead in the distance, lights could be seen as the pair neared the edge of the forest path. Before them a good mile away was a mansion perched atop a cliff overlooking a small village. Faint lights could be seen coming from the mansion, but not the village.

Insatiable Greed
The heavy rain stopped about halfway through Claire’s shift at the restaurant and now was just a light drizzle. Which was just fine to her, actually she preferred it this way. She liked the rain sure, but today she had plans. First up was the walk to the book store, then some lunch and then home. But it was time to go. She put on her red coat, pulled her reddish hair back into a ponytail, and headed out the door. Although the book store was only half a block away walking was in order. The cold caused her to bundle up more, but in no time, she made it under the covered stone walkway of the mini mall where the bookstore was located. Her excitement was building as she came up to the large windows which showed off various books and comics that were on sale, this was her happy place. Past the large metal and glass double doors was a table strategically placed to catch people's attention. On the table were books, comics, pens, and notebooks all of which were on sale. She took the time to look everything over. Out of everything on display, the only thing to catch her eye was a single little black book. Leather bound and a little worn it drew her attention, and for some strange reason she felt compelled to pick it up. It was the typical size of any other notebook, and she loved the pure leather smell. Flipping through the pages, she knew she had to have it. So, it was hers now.
