Yellow Tulips
There was a man who carried a yellow tulip with him wherever he went. Sometimes it adorned the tip of his left ear . Sometimes it was placed gently between the laces of his left shoe.

Four Lost Years, and More to Come
Sometimes, when I look back on the night it happened I see only fleeting memories, simple glimpses of the past… a deceased insect, a chilling atmosphere, her choppy blonde hair, my petite frame, her singular breast, my internal struggle to not hurt those who are hurt. What if I made it all up? What if she was right? What if I really am a liar?

A Stranger's House was Once Mine
I could only hope to die there one day. Peacefully, in my sleep, I prefer. My escape house has been renovated over the decade… while it was once a poor house with shagged carpets and wallpaper reminiscing old times, it has since become an elegantly modern cottage. It was more beautiful when it was horrendous and worn… I wish I could have been there to stop them, I wish I would have been old enough to purchase it before them, I wish I had pictures of what it once looked like so that I could dream over photographs rather than lost spirits. Even now, with its shiny, wooden floors and its dramatic deck, I wish I could go back. The land is the same, the layout is the same, the memories are the same. Even now, even though they have no clue, I still consider it my escape house, my safety net, my life line… even while I’m a world away… I don’t think anybody could ever take that away from me, I’d be a nobody then.

Ice Cream - The Nostalgic Kind
Author's Note: This is just a snippet of a novel I'm currently writing. (It's still in the rough draft process.) The first month was cold, but it was orange. There were slight breezes, but it never reached ice-white. There was a hope, but also a lost melody. A fading time, but I still looked at the grandfather clock when I could. Except, it was mother clock, instead of a grandfather. I didn’t know my grandfather well enough, but I remembered my mother. And father. And Elise. And Alec. And Chelsea. And Sarah. Maybe one day I could reach them again, maybe they’d be waiting beneath the waves, waiting to pull me under. I’d allow them to, they could touch me.

Royal sapphires and jagged jewels of other origin. Strawberry cocktails in Paris, filled to the brim with flocks of gut-wrenching ice. A fleeting summer breeze in the palms of the West Coast of America. Layers of extensions tickling the signatures of my back. And a solace in the warmth of financial stability. A celebration from afar. The stench of back-breaking sweat. Senses of guilt, dread, hopelessness. A fear. What have I fallen victim to?

I'm Barely in My Twenties
I still live in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and sometimes I revisit the worst years of my life... or the years I thought were going to be the worst. Needless to say, some of worst years have been my best. Which may sound ironic to a vast majority of people out there, which is understandable. After all, I don't believe that most people can say they were unloved as a child. At least, I hope that the vast majority of people can't say that. That's what I'd like to believe. Sometimes, beliefs are incorrect.

The wind gently caressed her pale, nimble palms, and a fountain began to bloom in the corners of her wispy, willowed eyes. She had only but a few tender, silver hairs.
