The Pond of Taijitu
In a pond surrounded by a barren valley and a bright night sky were two frozen fish. “I'm not making this up. There are billions of shining dots in the sky.” Fish One was optimistic towards his current living prison. Being positioned towards the stars, he could count each one every night, always finding entertainment in a new dot he remembered.

The Green Moth
She slammed the shed door behind her, which was followed by the sound of crickets and sniffles. “Why can’t they just understand me?”, the young woman said as she grabbed her phone to turn on a flashlight, which only showed the chipped old wood that held the wide shed together. Her face lit up and even though her eyes were red with tears, you could see her soft young face.

Deep Space Fishing
The bright flashing lights blinded him as he awoke. His breathing was deep, each breath sounding like his last. Strapped onto a metal table, his heart began to race. Giant pillars with circuits and wires hung overhead and for some reason, there was classical music in the background.

A Piece of Cake
Do not be alarmed, as I am a conscious piece of chocolate cake. I only wish to entertain your existence by expressing mine. You may find it hard to believe that I, a piece of cake, can retain memory and speak fluent English, but it’s best not to question too much of the universe as there will be questions that can never be answered.

The Pawn Shop
The young boy stood outside the weathered Pawn Shop. As he looked in both directions, the sun-stained crumbling shop was the only building still standing. The rubble and waste of his world slowly creeped around him. He noticed the pools of toxic sludge that decorated the street. There used to be stories of how the sludge was once drinkable. The world used to work with nature instead of against it. There was once a time of pleasure and joy, but those times have dwindled into nothing, like the stars up above. Storm clouds appeared in the far distance, slowly but certainly heading in the young boy’s direction.
