The title of this post is from a song by one of the most brilliant, iconic, and original artists of the baby boomer generation, Bob Dylan, who wrote so many really great songs. He is brilliant in his choice of word composition and vivid visuals of a surreal world gone mad, interwoven into a musical format that is catchy and thought-provoking as well.
I live in San Francisco, just 6 blocks from the Pacific Ocean, on the very edge of the Western world. Whenever I walk out my door, I can see the bright blue ocean and the rolling white surf pounding the shoreline, and the waves gently washing up on the beach. It is a beautiful and majestic sight.

It rained a while back. California has been suffering through several years of drought, so I should have been happy, but I was not. The rain lashing against my windows and the gray skies outside, and the colder weather from the storm all combined to make me feel frightened, confused, and isolated.
We should all rejoice in the diversity of life. I don’t understand why some people, especially these so-called conservative Americans so big in the media these days, make such a big deal about people that are different from them.
