Can Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 rescue the MCU?
Over the next year and a half, the biggest release to come out of either Marvel or DC will undoubtedly be Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, set for release less than three weeks from now. This is due to a number of factors; the culmination of a trilogy following the most-beloved group of superheroes outside of the original Avengers, a chance to see where James Gunn leaves the Marvel universe before jumping across to DC, and the introduction of at least two new key players to the MCU, which sorely lacks star-power following the departure of Iron Man, the original Captain America, Black Panther, and Black Widow.

A Farewell to Fed
At the end of the day, a grown man has decided to stop hitting fuzzy yellow balls for a living. That’s the simplest way of putting it, and it’s an excellent way to keep things in perspective, what with all that’s going on in this world. And yet, for anyone who grew up watching the Swiss Maestro dance his way around the court, it feels like a part of childhood has been closed off forever. Another way to put it is that one of the best and most inspirational athletes that we’ve ever seen, has retired. The idea of the greatest of all time has always been subjective, and comparing statistics between players will only ever reveal part of the story. Some of his records have already been broken, and the rest will likely fall in time.

Going Out With A Bang
It’s funny the kind of thoughts that fly through a person’s brain when they’re faced with impending death, and how vivid they seem. The biting smell of toilet cleaner. The strained warble of two blackbirds fighting for space at a birdbath. The punch of too much paprika in a curry. The moment where sunlight drops into a downstairs window in the late afternoon.

Being is Enough. Runner-Up in If Walls Could Talk.
If walls could talk. Some people look at a wall and think there could be nothing worse than staying in one place your entire life. Never moving, never going, never leaving. “Life’s about getting out of your comfort zone” and all that.
