The eCommerce Novice
The International Co-operative Alliance (Co-op) has just completed a two-decade study of ethical consumerism within the United Kingdom. What they found was that back in 1999, when the study began, the ethical consumer market was just £11.2 billion. Twenty years later it has grown to a whopping £41.1 billion. This is showing an increase of almost four times. Whilst during the same period the household expenditure in the United Kingdom has grown by just over 2%. This shows that consumer behaviour is changing, and people are becoming more conscious about what they are purchasing.

Adaptable Management
During management, we learn that there are many different personalities within our team. Some work well together, they listen and get the job done, whilst others are more of a challenge. With these challenging cases, I implore you not to micromanage them and to look at taking a different approach. Micromanagement is the destruction of the team environment. There may be cases where micromanagement is useful in short spurts, but overall, as a manager, you need to remember that everyone in your team brings something unique to help the business excel. Without their input, you may not do as well. Or you may still do very well, but have miserable staff. Consider working with your team’s personalities instead of against them.

The Start-up Entrepreneur
There comes a time in every Entrepreneur’s life when they decide the nine to five grind is not for them. They may have worked in frustrating situations where their opinions on business expansion were not valued, or perhaps they have always just had that ticking brain full of great ideas and big dreams. Whatever the reason, you are now here, and thirsty to create a world for yourself that others seem to think is too far beyond their reach. A world where you work because you want to work and work on what you want to work on. That is the end goal for most of us, but the truth is we have a long way to go before we get to that place.
