How much exercise you need to do is dependent on your age, gender and health; however, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that people between 18 and 64 years old get at least 2 hours of moderate-intensity exercise per week. However, while this is a good idea in general, it’s often misinterpreted. The key to losing weight is to consume fewer calories than you burn each day. Frequent meals are necessary for the body’s metabolic processes to work properly. Low blood sugar levels are a common side effect of low-calorie dieting, which can lead to impaired cognitive function, increased stress levels, irritability and mood swings.
