Hidden Demons
The city lights blurred as I ran down the street. The distance between us narrowed with every step. It was only a matter of time. I would catch him. My heart pounded in my chest, each beat pumping more adrenaline through my body. My mind was focused on one thing: Hunting my prey. Instincts took over, allowing me to move faster, dodging around and over anything in my way while he would trip and stumble. I moved like liquid, flowing through the night. Up ahead he turned left into an alley; hoping I would miss it, he cut behind a group of people to make the turn. But I didn't need to see him anymore to follow him. I had marked him back at the bar. I could now follow him anywhere.
