It has always been a source of pride that I am a Wyoming native, so much so that I recently walked away from a thriving business to move home. Home and at peace, ready to reflect on my travels and start living the life I have dreamed of.

Crush Trauma
We are just over 2 years apart and from the time I was about 8 til my freshman year, we lived, as the crow flies a block apart. Each of us in our own heads, our own problems but always knowing the other one was close. I suppose it is the way of kids, in their own heads to miss things, both good and bad. I missed the abuse and on the other side of the coin, I missed the fact that when he was 5, he fell in love.

One Small Treat. Content Warning.
When your husband is in the Air Force and stationed on the Gulf Of Mexico, you wouldn't think anything could go wrong. Our two young boys and I loved the beach and it was an inexpensive way to keep them entertained during the hot Mississippi summer.

Traveler, A job well done.
I know for a fact that people think I am weird, I also know they are right. I am always in my head, always have been and this made growing up as the only girl on a ranch in central Wyoming that much harder. I am sure that this is why riding the summer range late in the season and checking the cows had always been one of my favorite chores. Done right, I could ride for days and not see another soul, just the elk, deer and occasional moose. My only company was the cows, my horse and whatever dog happened to load up as I was leaving cow camp. The work is easy, ride through the lease and count cows, check their overall condition and get a general idea of how long fall round up was going to take when the time came to truck them down country to the ranch for the winter. A couple of days spent with the trees, the sky, nights sleeping on the ground, peaceful, laid back and most generally uneventful.

SD As Seen From Interstate 90
Mindfulness Considering that I appear to be the typical, fifty something, overweight, divorcée, one would think that I am the last person to be giving travel advice. However, it seems ever since I first obtained my drivers license and took my first road trip, I have had a passion for driving, for seeing what I can see and taking the road less traveled.

Heathcliff
He had to be about the ugliest dog I have ever seen! My brother was welding in the oilfields and found this strange looking pup on the side of the road. Being the kind soul, my brother was he picked him up and brought him home, he was mostly starved, with a long skinny snout, a coon dog body and green eyes. We had no choice but to name him Heathcliff and yes, there were times when he showed me the dark side of love. With everyone else in the family too busy, he became my responsibility and though I loved him and I know he loved me, there were numerous times when I wished he understood “don’t embarrass me or else” it just didn’t seem to work for me with him as well as it did for mom with us kids.
