The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. The chill autumn air and the full moon did very little to calm his nerves as he stared at that single yellow and orange teardrop with equal parts disbelief and dread. Disbelief that the ritual might have worked and dread at the very real possibility that someone found the girl’s body.
