The Non-Obvious Halloween Playlist
This is not your upbeat playlist, not that it's very downbeat either. The songs are moody, violent, disturbing, with shades dark humor. Halloween celebrates the weird, the outcast, and the feared. Both grim and smiling faces are suitable. For one night the world attempts to face its fears and laugh at them collectively. Halloween invites us to be different and a little insane.

Cake for the Pre-Post-Pastry Era
The cake was not modern enough. Nor was it a pastry, which was not as important as it sounded considering he was competing in the ‘Best Alternative Pastry’ category. Ralph read the note attached to the base of his cake, Entry 12- ‘Too many flavors impinging on the experience of the sugar. Not enough cinnamon.’

Margaret Iron
Margaret picked her way through the innards of a house with high walls and archways connecting the collapsing, cavernous rooms. The house was in a Victorian style, and for all she knew she was the last person in this forsaken land to remember such trivial details of the old world. She sidled through a doorway with its left post jutting out like a geometric art piece, similar to the ones she saw in the green parks during childhood.
