A Pretty Prize
I clung to a life that was devoid of meaning… for how long, I do not know. My perception of time had been abstract. If my pages were left blank I would not have noticed its passing at all. I was unseeing, incognizant… and dying.

I Am a Cube
If light is joy, and dark is pain, then I am a cube on this imaginary plane. A single lamp orbits me, it never goes out. It only rises and lowers, as it moves about. Its reach is furthest when centered and high but I find that its view is rarely bird’s eye. Those close to me help move it around, lifting it up and pulling it down. One side is always exposed to the glow, contrasting the other side, a black shadow.
