Mae was effortlessly typing on her keyboard at her desk, like a concert pianist playing the hardest symphony. There were small stacks of mixed folders and loose documents forming a paper city on the floor, but some paperwork still needed to be finished. The secretary turned to look at the stacks, tracking her progress, and she let out a heavy sigh.

The brisk wind tumbled into the leaves, getting caught within the wilting trees. Hazel was strolling through Evergreen Park, watching the breeze sweep the streets. She stopped when she saw the empty playground, wrapped with caution tape tied on the equipment. Hazel stared at the swings, recalling a memory that seemed so distant.

You'd figure in the 21st century, our society would have progressed further in creating a safer foundation for the LGBTQIA+ community. Yet it appears that parts of the world don't understand, and still believe whatever outdated knowledge that singles out our community from humanity. Gender or sexuality can't be defined so plainly like black and white, when there is a meaty grey spectrum that needs more exploring.
