The Prophecy
What’s going on? This is madness, Coletta nervously thought as she anxiously watched the ebony skinned woman’s dark eyes reflect, what could only be described as, pure terror. Attempting to study the lady’s expression for any clue, Coletta stared at her, watching her slow pace in the middle of the lavishly decorated lobby.

The Invitation - Part Two
Each of her footsteps made a muffled thud on the aged and damaged carpet as she nervously made her way inside of the mansion. Dark mahogany panelling covered every wall, giving the estate both a regal and foreboding appearance. Shadows fought with the fleeting light that found its way through dingy and yellowed blinds.

The snow clung to the window, blurring the world into a foamy sea of white. He watched as the people filled in one by one. Defensively he crossed his arms over his chest, pondering, “Why am I here?” The impulse to throw his simmering black coffee from his table as they passed glanced through his mind.

Who was this, thought the child, as she attempted to sit still in her very best dress that was adorned with lace.

They would be taking off in the cover of darkness, like an incandescent wand cutting through black velvet cloth, only to land in the brightness of day. If she thought about that too much, her mind would simply become a jumble of philosophical constructs. Instead, she chose to enjoy the pink and blue lights of the cabin and contemplate her arrival.

Unforeseen Circumstances
The forest smelt strongly of pine and wild onion as they meandered like hunters through the overgrowth, hacking back the bushes. It was as if they were looking for a missing puzzle piece or a rare and fabled jewel. In truth, they were stalking one of the escaped Velociraptors, another human error that had cost the life of one more park ranger.

There's Something in the Water
A rooster’s crow cut the silence of the morning sky in two as the weary collie awoke from its night-time slumber. Clouds drifted cautiously between the mountain tops as if icing a cake, complimented by the thin layers of mist that blanketed the heavily ploughed fields in expectation of the coming day.

A Force to End All Worlds
Slowly turning the beautiful and ornate key over, her eyes followed the intricate pattern of the swirled engravings. It was an undeniable weight in her palm, the type of design only known in fairy tales about magical forests, but the question was, how did it find its way on top of her messy and unkempt office desk.
