"Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks." - Plutarch
We rode on our bicycles one day The sun shone brightly And the skies were so blue Clouds moved slowly We stopped to look up at the sky

We were only young back then Didn’t know any better Always hurting each other Or arguing over nothing Then we decided to drift apart
When you’d hold my hand at some days I would feel my heart flutter in joy Your soft hands holding mine And I have never felt so happy
I always wondered what it would be like if things were different If you loved me like I loved you, maybe we could be better
I always wondered what it felt like If I could touch your hand And feel the warmth in them But how could I know If I never done it before?
When you promise your life to someone else Knowing that someday you will wither away Become old as time and lay under the ground
I found you at first Held your warm hand And we became friends You told me about your dream Then I started supporting you
When we drifted apart years ago You moved on and lived your life While I’m still stuck in the past Where you and I were happy together
We went on our own ways Said our goodbyes to each other Never knowing how long it would be Until we would meet again
I always wondered about the things That might happen if we did it differently What if we didn’t hurt each other Then maybe we wouldn’t be like this?
I met you first and started to like you But when I got to know you more You were like a ray of sunshine in my life Always bringing happiness everywhere you go
Forever was the promise I made to you that night under the twinkling stars Forever was the lie I had to face when you left me under the scorching July sun
