Last year, I lost my dad to a sudden heart attack and to be honest, it took quite a bit of time to get myself back together. At the time of my dad’s death, I was still in my final year of university and had spent most of 2020–2021 cooped up at home due to Covid restrictions.

Music videos have become just as integral a part of music as the songs themselves. Oftentimes, a song is recognised by its accompanying video rather than just by its sound.
A band’s name is one of, if not their most defining aspect. Just by the sound of its name, a listener can instantly picture a group’s members and songs in their minds. If done right, even a person who isn’t a fan of the group can get a feel of the band’s style just by hearing its name.
In the ever-changing world of music, the songs may last forever but the groups behind them may not. Bands often break up, and their members often go their separate ways. Sometimes they get back together, while other times, they strive out on their own.
Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September 2022, her son, King Charles III, took over as the new King of England. At 73, Charles had spent over 69 years as heir to the throne and holds the world record as the longest heir-apparent in history.
On 20 October 2022, the UK’s Prime Minister Liz Truss announced her resignation from office. Having been appointed to the role on 6 September 2022, Truss had only served 44 days in office before announcing her decision to leave 10 Downing Street.
With the world in mourning at the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the initial grief will soon give way to nostalgia and a desire to look back at past happenings. There is no doubt that this tragic incident will create a somewhat renewed interest in the monarchy.
21 years ago today, the world bore witness to one of the most tragic events in history. Almost 3000 people lost their lives and over 25,000 people were injured during the heinous 9/11 attacks.
In the world of music, competition is rife. Be it bands, record labels or artists, there is always one entity striving to do better than the rest of their contemporaries. Even musicians who once worked alongside each other in the past may end up competing with one another somewhere down the line.
