Lost in the Jungle
The afternoon sun shone brightly into Amelia Sands's baby blue eyes. It took some time to adjust her vision to see clearly. She felt herself swaying from side to side, which almost caused her to feel nauseous. When she sat up, she realized she was sitting in a canoe in the middle of a swampy lake. Amelia glanced around in confusion wondering where she is and how she ended up there. She did not recognize anything beside the tall trees. There were more of them than she remembered. There were so many sounds she did not recognize. It was at this moment she realized she was far from home, which scared her very much. She did not like being alone, especially when she did not recognize anything at all. ‘Where am I?’ she wondered to herself.
