The Lullaby

The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. The hare a few feet from the cabin stilled, as did every other animal within a fifty-foot radius. The sound of bugs buzzing, a birds wings fluttering, and even the wind through the trees seemed to be instantly paralyzed. In this quiet, a faint hum filled the air, a melody lost to time.
