Written in the Stars

After spending a whole year feeling stuck in one place I decided to search for more. I never thought that meant I would find something so physical and so soon. I have never been into planning my days, but one surprisingly productive afternoon I had the time and the motivation to be even more productive. My new roller skates I had dreamed about for two years just came in the mail so I decided to break them in by going to the parking deck with the best view of my city. It was there that I found something that would change my destiny forever. After parking and building up the courage to skate out of my front seat, some movement across the lot startled me. A bright orange cat waltzing out of a bag of trash like it just had the best meal of its 9th life. The cat was what that caught my eye, but it was something else that caught my attention. A little black book with “the stars” written in a darker black ink on the front. My first thought was “what is this” and my second was “i have to have it”. After picking it up and very minimal investigation I came to the conclusion that it was supposed to be thrown in the dumpster it sat next to, but never made it. I decided to keep it. This was a decision I would later thank myself for.
