I began lucid dreaming at the age of 6. I will never forget that first dream wherein I melted into alarming awareness. For me, dreams were, and have always been, a fearful place. When I was a boy with large doe eyes, I would creep around the halls of our ancient family home. The floorboards would creek beneath me, almost as if to protest, and I would lurk from one shadow to the next. Anything to avoid sleep.

Twenty-Something
Here's the thing about me: I'm a mom, but I'm also 25. Moreover, I'm a 25-year-old mom in 2022. I'm physically attractive, with a thick accent and a people-pleasing mentality caused by years of mental and physical abuse. This matters because without meaning to, I construct a perfect companion for whoever it is I'm talking to. I nod my head, I grin just wide enough, I take my glasses off at just the right time to reveal the eyeliner I've carefully used to round out my almond shaped eyes in just the right places. Conventionally, I'm attractive. In the ways that count. In the ways that get me laid.

The Balmy Berry
There was once a small silver dragon who wandered mountain landscapes alone. She stood only as tall as a large coniferous tree, and was not apt to take flight into the skies. There were tales of the little dragon throughout the many breeds of creatures, who all had at least two or three members who claimed to have seen the little dragon with their own eyes. The dragon became somewhat of a myth, although her reality was anything but.
