Introduction Tamil Nadu is one of the 29 states of India. Tamil Nadu is the 11th most populous state in India and the 6th most populous state in India in terms of population density. The state shares a maritime border with the nation of Sri Lanka. The capital and largest city in the state is Chennai. Tamil Nadu has the second largest economy in India with a Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of US$210 billion. Tamil Nadu is home to a variety of natural resources, including minerals, agricultural products, and forests. The state is also home to numerous cultural sites, including temples, monuments, and museums. Tamil Nadu is home to more than 70 million people, and its official language is Tamil.
