Does mediocrity choose you, or does your subconscious choose mediocrity?
We live in this land, from birth to death, all the time by the land of the Ming culture and hidden culture influence. The pragmatism and realism of Chinese people is one of the most profound cultural accumulation. Our parents, our teachers, pass on this spirit all the time, but it is realism and pragmatism that make us more mediocre. Pragmatism demands immediate results, not a long, nebulous future. In most cases, the best choice of the moment is not the best choice of history. The overall reason is that our vision is often not long term, only see the present, is far from the overall optimal judgment. Generally speaking, Westerners like to take risks, and they are willing to try their best to struggle without knowing any results. In this way, even if not all of them can succeed, they have gone out of the range of local minimum after all. Too much emphasis on practical benefits also limits the breadth and depth of our thinking, making us always think about the problems around us, rather than thinking about the broader issues.
