After a Moonlight Swim
The moonlight illuminates the water streaming from my skin as my body rises from the lake. Out-of-body experiences let you do impossible, beautiful things. I float above myself in the cold night air. I want to soak in every detail before I wake up.

Sewing My Way to Self Love
The simple pattern only needed me to cut the fabric twice, but I made those cuts with careful precision. I could have salvaged any mistakes by making the waistband a little thinner than I had planned, or by shortening the skirt, but the possibility of ruining the project was not my main concern. Good habits are important for any creator, and I wanted to build skills I could rely on when I move on to more complex garments.

The Girl in the Stormfront Café
It was impossible to ignore the girl in the Stormfront Café. I tried my best. All I ever wanted to do was sip my vanilla latte before work each morning. She was, unfortunately, too strange to ignore. The girl looked like an extra from the set of a vampire movie, the way she wore old-fashioned dresses under her black Victorian jacket. A few times a week, she would haunt the table in the far corner, scribbling in her little black notebook like she thought it might disappear. When she finished writing, she would tuck the notebook into a hidden pocket in her jacket, and then she would leave.
