When Dark I Dream
“The remedy for curing desire lies not in satisfying it, but in extinguishing it.” - Eleutherius # The drafty apartment was dark; a child’s eyes darted back and forth across the living room floor tracing shadowy outlines. His father lay on a ragged couch in the corner of the room, long legs sticking out from under the too-small woolen blanket that covered him. The child gingerly lifted the corner of the blanket, face hovering over his father’s. “Wake up, Papa. It’s time for me to go to school.”
