Reece James Gets Robbed
It was meant to be another great night in the Champions League for Reece James and his Chelsea colleagues. While a dire first half had the fans at Stamford Bridge scratching their heads, Romelu Lukaku made up for it in the second forty-five with a well headed goal in the 69th minute. It was to be the only goal in a game that never really got going, however Thomas Tuchel and his charges would welcome a winning start as they attempted to defend their European crown. Offensively, it was a rather worrying display, while at the back it was another solid performance by the London side.

Songs, Followers and Manchester Money – The Return of Cristiano Ronaldo
“Viva Ronaldo, Viva Ronaldo … Running down the wing, hear United sing … Viva Ronaldo”. That was the song that made its way to the Molineux Stadium and could be heard before, during and after Manchester United’s 1-0 away victory to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Not since the end of the 2008/09 season could Manchester United fans rejoice at the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo would be wearing a shirt with their beloved badge on it. While the outpouring of joy from the public was something to behold among fans of the red devils and those that admire him; what was profound to see was the reaction on social media, the stock market and the club shops.

Rio Ferdinand's take on the European Super League
The FA Cup Semi-Final between Leicester City and Southampton had just concluded. A game in which Leicester City had managed to reach the cup final for the first time since 1969. They had never won the competition in their history. Another unbelievable story for Brendan Rodgers' overachievers. A success that added to their out-of-this-world Premier League title in 2015/16.

“Best player on the pitch by a long way”, were the words used to describe Bruno Fernandes against Brighton & Hove Albion by commentator Gary Neville. A convincing 3-0 away victory for the Red Devils put them back into fifth-place on the Premier League table. The orchestrator of Manchester United’s victory was unquestionably their talismanic Portuguese attacking midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, who scored two goals, ran the most kilometers before being subbed off and provided decisive passes into the opposition’s box throughout the encounter.

Without fans, it just isn't the same . Top Story - June 2020.
It seems like a lifetime ago that we were allowed to hop onto aeroplanes and fly to cities that would show us a little additional piece of the world puzzle. It was a regular occurrence for me to travel all over the United Kingdom and various other locations in Europe because of the work that I do. I work in the sport television industry and the last destination that I got to enjoy visiting was the magnificent Rome. Thus my flashback encompasses the sad truth that we cannot gather together at sporting events anymore, something I most certainly will never take for granted again.

Los Blancos are without a doubt the most successful European club in the game’s history, winning the most La Liga titles (33), the most European Cup / UEFA Champions League trophies (13) and they have also won the FIFA Club World Cup a record number of times (4). Real Madrid have managed to win all European and international competitions other than the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in which they were runners-up twice. Unrelenting in their quest for football dominance, there is one achievement that the club haven’t managed to accomplish – the treble.

Mourinho’s Tottenham and their March madness
An FA Cup loss on penalties to Norwich City, a tame draw to Burnley in the Premier League (Matchday 29) and now having been dealt a knock-out punch by RB Leipzig has put the Londoners in a foul mood. A mood that Spurs fans thought couldn’t get worse after Eric Dier’s reaction to his brother being insulted. Dier inexplicably entered the stands and dealt with the abuse in a manner that cannot be condoned (video attached). The England international is seen assaulting one of the fans after the Norwich City FA Cup tie and has only heaped more pressure on his teammates and worst of all his manager.

Comments after the Hoffenheim match
It was supposed to be a straight forward conclusion to an incredible performance by the German record champions. They surprisingly scored six goals away against TSG Hoffenheim and that despite Robert Lewandowski not starting because of a fracture in his tibia. After all, TSG Hoffenheim had beaten the mighty Bavarian side on match day seven (2-1) and while their form wasn't great of late, no one expected this Munich side to score with such ease.

Alphonso Davies - Canada's Superstar
When one thinks of powerful football nations the likes of Brazil, Italy, Germany, Argentina, France, Spain, Portugal, England and the Netherlands come to mind. Canada, however, doesn't really feature on that list. In fact, Canada have only once featured in a FIFA World Cup campaign in their entire history, way back in 1986. Their results were somewhat unsatisfactory in that tournament, being knocked out of the group stages without scoring a single goal.

The Haaland Train
Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg tie between Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain looked to be heading towards a rather unexpected draw, when Norwegian sensation Erling Haaland thumped a long range effort into the back of the net to send the Westfalenstadion into ecstasy. Even experienced campaigners such as the likes of Paul Scholes would have been proud of a strike like that and it brought to the fore just how incredibly gifted this young man really is. 2-1 it would end to the German side, who looked to have the better of the Parisians for large segments of the much anticipated tie.
