My Very First Time
Warning, the following blog is for my comic book nerds. Now for all you football nerds (yes, you are nerds; fantasy football is the same as Dungeons and Dragons) I’ll get more into football as the season gets closer to starting. I’ve never been a big draft person. I mean it’s all a gamble if team and the player they drafted is a good fit. I also don't want to talk about stupid people doing stupid things in the news or social media because first it does get a bit tedious and second, I am so excited about what’s coming.

I Love You, Mom
In the second blog I ever wrote, I talked about how drastically different Father’s Day is perceived and celebrated compared to Mother’s Day. It was a funny little take on how Mother’s Day was the Super Bowl and Father’s Day was the Duke’s Mayo Bowl (which is an actual college bowl game). There have been seemingly endless number of commercials from jewelry stores, department stores and even day spas since April and with many states dropping mask and other COVID restrictions, restaurants and their parking lots will be overflowing with people giving their mothers a day out with a good meal.

Happy New Year
When I started this blog, I decided that I wouldn’t write one when I was in a “dark place”. I didn’t want my writing to be so dark and twisted. I always wanted to add a little humor to give balance to what I was saying and make it enjoyable reading. I can honestly say that since my last blog and even right now, I’ve had my mail and phone calls forwarded to my “dark place”. In my “dark place”, my heart and mind have been in a constant tug of war (like in the Squid Games, complete with the 100ft drop to the bottom for the losing side). In a battle of reality vs. perception, logic vs feeling, facts vs opinions; about my self-worth, how people see me and my place (if any) in the world, I can hear every argument. These constant battles of tug of war get so intense that there is no clear winner, which results in the burden of having to put on a mask to smile to make it thru the day or just makes me feel so exhausted that I barley want to get out of bed or rush back to my bed as soon as I can so I can just cry. It’s kind of like Batman in which the mask is playboy millionaire Bruce Wayne, but the real man is a brooding, scary man who hangs out in the shady parts of the city dressed like a giant bat (or for my Star Trek nerds, Spock’s battle between his human and Vulcan side). There is no “snapping out” of my dark place. There’s no inspirational or tough love speech (like Dr. Cox on Scrubs or James Evans from Good Times) that can turn me around and make things better. I and those around me must understand that for whatever reason I’m here in this place. To “move on”, I may have to stay here for a while which may result in periods of quietness and moodiness. Now that is not to say that I won’t come out sometimes to visit. I still know that I am blessed and I have to try and enjoy the small things in life that brings me joy, such as; playing Roblox with my son (he loves Obby Creator), my son making A/B Honor Roll, having a understanding wife (love you) , finally having insurance (okay, that’s a big one),my fantasy football team winning the league, discovering the best PSP emulator on Android (now I can play Crisis Core – Final Fantasy 7 and Grand Theft Auto -Vice City Stories with no lag at all!!).

Opening Back Up
Over the last two weeks, we are slowly getting back to “normal” life as theaters, restaurants and other public venues, are opening back up due to COVID-19 restrictions being loosened up just in time for everyone to enjoy the summer. Last week there were Juneteenth celebrations held outside and with the upcoming 4th of July holiday (in honor of the Original Illegals, aka the “Founding Fathers” and the Declaration of Hypocrisy) will surely bring about more festivals, outdoor activities and chances for people to come together.

Happy Father's Day
Happy Father’s Day to all you dads, uncles, granddads, stepdads and dad-figures out there. I was going to go into a rant about how undermarketed and underwhelming this day gets compared to Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day is in May and you start seeing a wide variety commercial toward that day in the beginning of April for flowers, jewelry, restaurants, cars and cruises. On Father’s Day you don't see commercials for this day until the beginning of the month and we get the SAME three commercials for fishing equipment, shaving supplies and motor oil. Speaking of restaurants, on Mother’s Day most restaurants have lines of people going out the door into the next block as if they their going to see Avengers Endgame. On Father’s Day, you might as well have tumbleweed fly across the front door like an old western ghost town. It also doesn’t help that for over 20 plus years, daytime television keeps hammering the fact that fatherhood truly begins when one man gets at least two women pregnant, denies both babies and Maury Povich makes the proclamation that “You are the father!’ Please don’t get me wrong, mothers deserve all the adulation, love and gifts (love you mommy) but can fathers get some love too…AAAHHHHHHHHH…. but I won’t do that.

Let Me Introduce Myself....
First of all, thank you for reading this. I really didn’t think anybody would read this other than my wife. Welcome to what I hope would be the first of many blogs of random thoughts and rants that will hopefully make you think, laugh, share and discuss (and of course tip). I thought a good way to start this new relationship is to of course introduce myself. Now, despite the title of this page, I am a real breathing human being with feelings and not a robot. The title of this page is just a reflection of who I am. Despite my rather large stature (yeah I’m a big dude) you wouldn’t notice me if you saw me or engage me in conversation if you see me. I’m the human embodiment of the square peg in the round whole. I’m big but not athletic enough to be a jock and I’m nerdy but not nerdy enough to speak Klingon. The reason why I started this page because my wife thought it was a good idea to share my opinions and thought on the internet as a way to vent my frustrations, depressions and jokes (which means she got tired of me talking her head off). So let me tell you a little about myself and some of the topics I’ll be talking about in the future:
