God's Right Hand
Azriel sighed as she kneeled at the altar steps, looking up at the ceiling, uncertain of whether God had abandoned her for falling in love or had he abandoned all of his children alike. Tears streamed down her face, thinking of things God had once said to her. She was the closest to him, his right hand, and although he loved all of his children, she was the one constantly at his side, until he disappeared, leaving her to wander the earth and the heavens aimlessly, no task at hand and wondering what she might have done wrong.
