Out in Ten
Scott spent most of his days in his home in Charleston. He would text his friends in between work breaks and during his television time. Because he was always bored in his home, one of his friends emailed him several websites for dating apps. One night, he looked into one of those sites and it included a couple of women who live in Florence or near the city. One ad he read showed a much older woman and it read “Locals Only in Florence, Ten Minutes Away.” He opened it and saw the woman’s profile.

Kim's Monday Morning
It was Monday morning at the K/J (somebody will figure it out) house and Pete had arrived at eight. It was very quiet and I thought no one would be home because everyone had gone out for breakfast. Fortunately, he was wrong. Coming out the front door was Kim, his new girlfriend. She was on the rebound from her ex husband, Kenneth, whom she shares two children with. Kenneth was the big time, egotistical and highly acclaimed record producer and rapper who talks about how great he is. This would usually piss her off but the worst part is when he accused of her of fucking their bodyguard. She filed for divorce nearly a month later and had moved on Pete. This lanky tattooed freak had many girlfriends throughout his career: a pop singer, a model whose own mother was a model, and an actress with milf status. Then he moved on Kim, much to the dismay of Kenneth.

Lost Owl in the Woods
It was around midnight and the Roberts family were preparing to go to sleep as they were camping. The mother and father were sleeping in their own tent and so did the three children. The youngest child, Wilma, could not sleep and felt like she was hearing things outside. Somehow it had no effect on her older siblings. The twelve year old had then exited the green tent and started slowly. While walking she still heard the noise and could not figure out what it was and where it was coming from. She kept walking in the left direction of the forest and stopped by a tree that overshadowed her five two frame. She could hear the noise being close and looked around in different directions. She then looked up at the tree she was next to and saw a gray owl sitting on a branch. She had figured out where the noise came from and what it was. Wilma waved at the owl as it hooed. The owl flew down slowly to the ground right by Wilma's feet. She kneel in front of the owl and noticed that its left wing was hurt. She figured that the owl must have hurt itself during a flight. But what was going through in her mind was what to do about the broken wing. She then carried the owl back to the area where her family's tents are. She quickly reached into a black duffle bag and took out a first aid kit. She tried not to make much noise to help heal the owl.

The School Trip
It was 2008, before I transferred to another elementary school the following year. My third grade class was selected to go to Manhattan for a field trip to the history museum. I was excited to go and already paid for it. It was my second time going there on a school trip. I would eventually go there a few times later along with a bowling alley in Queens and a couple of pizza joints. But I was always worried about the seating arrangement on the bus because I felt like the person sitting next to me would not like me. On the day of the trip, almost all of my classmates were next to each other. The class was an odd number and I was about to sit by myself. Then Ms. Harris asked me to sit next to her during the ride.

The Joys Of The Hanna House
For the beginning of the year, I have been working as a volunteer for the Hanna House. The location works perfectly as the place is in my neighborhood. For two months, I have been learning about the aspects and purpose of the Hanna House and how many people are served there weekly. It is welcomed to contributions from the USDA, food and clothing donations and volunteers whenever they come.
