Introduction Pythagoras of Samos was a famous Greek mathematician and philosopher ( c. 570 — c. 495 BC). Pythagoras is associated with the famous geometric theorem that bears his name. The theorem states that In a right triangle, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides.
