There was only one rule: don't open the door. That was where the grossness lay. In my head, not opening the door would mean I would be forgotten. This hope was repeated night after night, fooling myself again and again, but I was always called out to the madness. I could not hide.

Yes, tis the season to give! Or really the season of, 'how broke do I want to be after the Christmas of the not so great year of 2020?' Who gets what, who gets nothing, how much, or how little? Now I am a pretty frugal man, but this year Scrooge has nothing on me!

A Musicians Journey
I grew up a product of divorce from the age of six. I suffered from chemical depression, which was properly diagnosed much later in my life. Somewhere in those early years, I discovered music. It must have started with soundtracks to the movies Grease and Saturday Night Fever, not to mention the car radio which was harboring contemporary artists like the Eagles, Jimmy Buffet, disco tunes, and significant one-hit wonders of the '70s.

My Trees
I've lived at the same home for over 20 years. Being a young homeowner meant I had to learn to take care of things myself. A right of passage if you will. I have two trees in the front yard and in my first year of home-ownership, I realized these trees were going to need attention. Branches were hanging low. Some over the sidewalk and others a hindrance towards mowing the lawn.
