Dear reader — today I like to confess — years ago I discovered the power of observing oneself. Honestly, being an individual with bipolar disorder — I had to find ways to better understand my actions — so, observing life, my emotions, my thoughts, and my reactions — I eventually found the way to understand my ups and downs. My biggest thrill in life happened when I was free to visit and stay up to six months, in the United States. I lived all my life on a small island in Italy, (island Sardegna), and I knew I wasn’t going to miss my chance to visit my aunt, who was living in California at the time. It was 1986 and I was only twenty-one years old.

My states of mind are like many dimensions — but also the places I physically visit represent a dimension — in which I find comfort, fun, joy, excitement, or fear, and worries. So, now that I know, I always try to choose my dimensions.
