I believe 100 percent, that in the future our education will be modular. One that will give way into a lego-like combination of stackable credentials. That idea was sparked from Anant Agarwal the CEO of edX, so I want to give him props to the initial idea.

Why would education need to be changed? Let's establish this first, as the current situation is often misunderstood. The very traditional form factor that the higher education system (really though schools at all levels), that we have all been used to for hundreds of years is not viable anymore.

Building Your First Semester. Top Story - November 2018.
When it comes to creating your degree it really boils down to making a semester at a time. Yes, you can do what I did, and collect 400 courses then make 10 semesters out of it. However, that takes a long time and I only did it because my ideal career is one of a synergy between three different "majors."

The Purpose of the U.L.C.
Overall most of our lives are based on the 9-5 work cycle, and we get up go to work, eat, sleep, and bathe, then do it all over again. The funny situation is that isn't normal. In most of our history, we got up at the crack of dawn, or perhaps whenever we wanted to, then we got whatever work needed to be done that done, done. There was no time constraints, or limiting factors to our daily lifestyle. On top of that there was much less stress on each individual person.
