Refractive Cataract Surgery
Cataracts, a common condition that causes clouding of the eye’s natural lens, can severely affect vision, making everyday activities like reading, driving, and enjoying time with family difficult. Traditionally, cataract surgery focused on removing and replacing the cloudy lens with a basic mono-focal intraocular lens (IOL). While this surgery restores vision, it doesn’t address the underlying refractive issues such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. Refractive cataract surgery, however, offers a modern solution that clears up cataracts and corrects these refractive errors, allowing patients to experience clearer vision without glasses or contact lenses.
