Narcissistic Wins
5/3/2015 Monday Layla looks up and sees him standing at her doorway. It took forty-eight hours after his relapse but there he stands, as expected, wanting connection and attention. Derrick doesn’t care that she’s sleeping. He doesn’t have a concern for how she feels at all. He wants to feel better after not speaking to her or the kids since before Friday. He has no concern for how his silent abuse might hurt others, only that he’s tired of it and now needs her to help him feel justified in his psychological weaponry.

Monster Boy, Monster Man
Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing Monster Boy, Monster Man By Dezi Golden 5/1/2015 Friday Layla is up early. It's 7:05 a.m. and she stumbles out of bed to stop her brain from spinning. Overthinking as it were. She despises the head space she’s in. She’s not surprised. It’s year number seventeen, nine of them married to “the monster boy”. She calls him that because he’s far from the man he promised to be. A boy is all he is. All he’ll ever be.
