What Are Engineering Plastics?
Although the plastic age was in its infancy is abundant in applications, the limited capabilities of the material severely restricted the potential uses of the synthetic. Plastic was too soft and too easy to melt once temperatures rose. The advent of polymer technology gave plastic a new dimension. It added developmental attributes that made plastic more useful and, without making steel alloys redundant. Today, chemical engineering has replaced the metallic component by replacing it with engineered plastics made from strong bonded molecules called polymers.
