Everyone's Grandma
This year's trials and tribulations with the pandemic raging the nation and the rest of the world makes you realize how fortunate you are to have the people in your life. The New Year is nearly upon us and when you reflect on all the changes that we have all had to endure it makes you grateful for the previous times you were able to spend with an elderly parent or relative. Our elders have had life experiences that could teach us so much about the world around us if we just took the time to listen. The world was a different place for many of them and the lessons you could take away from their experiences are endless.

The Dark Grove
There is something unnerving about a dark patch of woods in an unlikely area. Shadows play on your nerve endings and the hair on your arms and the back of your neck stands out as you get the feeling you are being watched. Trees line the pathway from both sides arching over the pathway and sealing the canopy into a dark eerie grove filled with darkness. The hoots of giant owls and golden eyes stare back at you and things swoop down from branches above in the darkness. Even on a sunny day the darkness awaits in the dark grove.

Living With Stage 4 Cirrhosis
I walked into the doctor's office to get the results of my biopsy, blood work, ultasound, and fibroscan nearly a year ago. At that time I had fatty liver disease and fibrosis of the liver. I didn't expect any dramatic changes because I felt fine at the time, nothing seemed drastically wrong. I left my husband outside in the van cause he hates sitting in the doctor's office. My name was called and I was led to a very nice room to await the doctor.
