The Specter of Depression
There you are. I thought you’d gone forever this time. You’re so familiar. Oddly comfortable for something that is shaped like despair, a consistency like clay mud and the sensation of millions of threads of fiberglass embedded just beneath my skin. It says so much that I find you comfortable.

A Parable of Hope
The child had heard much about a new friend that she would meet someday soon. There was no way to know when this friend would arrive, only that the child could expect it sometime soon. Though she had not yet met this new friend, the child had old friends, and they kept her company.
