The Shark Life
Walking down towards the ocean James looked out across the never ending water. He could see the sun beginning to rise across the glass surface of the water. It looked as though that glowing orange sphere was rising from the water itself. It was not a long walk to his dock, and it was only a short time before he had his anchor up, and was all set to head out. His cell phone began to ring, and the sound jolted him out of his own deep thoughts. It was in that moment that he realized he had made a huge error, and did not leave his phone at his house. Stupid he thought as he set his phone on the floor of his boat and smashed it. He threw the pieces into the water, and thought well that’s what I get for not following the rules. It was one of his basic rules that he had forgotten to follow, and he knew better. Always, always leave your phone at home when you go out to hunt. Now that his phone is at the bottom of the ocean he will have the excuse that his phone was stolen days ago if ever questioned.

The Fear Never Visited
The group was climbing over each ledge, and I was working towards the top with all of my effort. Each ledge felt like a victory, and as I looked around it felt like I was the only one struggling. The other members of the group were laughing and talking. They were all so casual, but not me, I was fighting one of the biggest battles of my life. I was the last one to climb over the final ledge to enter onto the top of the towering building. Everyone else had already gathered at the ledge, and they were all looking down with excitement. They were saying things like wow, these views is priceless, and look at how far we can see out. I slowly moved towards the edge as I looked over I felt slightly dizzy, and I could feel nothing but fear taking over me. There were these two younger gentlemen standing next to me, and one of them reached over and acted like he was going to push me. I dropped to the ground and crawled back away from the ledge with nothing but pure panic now. He started to laugh as he asked me are you seriously that scared? Yes I shouted back in a strained voice, because I was fighting the urge to throw up. Why would you come do something like this if you are scared of height the man asked? I was trying to give myself exposure therapy to help get over my fears I replied. The other man let out a sarcastic laugh as he said if you think this is bad then I don’t know how you are ever going to get down from here. I looked up at him and with a confused look on my face asked what do you mean? Well think about it he began to explain, you climbed up these ledges to get up here how do you think you get back down them? I don’t know I had not put much thought into it I said back. Clearly the man said, well the way you get down is to dangle from the each ledge and drop down to the one underneath it.

The Vicious Cycle
It was around fifth grade when Lisa began to notice that she did not fit in with the rest of the kids. She had heard a group of her friends whispering about one of their birthday parties that was going on that weekend. As she walked up they all stopped talking and some were awkwardly hiding their invitations in their note books. Lisa thought hmm they must have forgotten to give me my invitation, and so she happily asks her friend Jamie when the party was. Jamie looked down at the ground, and said well Lisa I didn’t want to have to tell you this, but you’re not invited. Lisa could not even control the look of shock on her face, as the words why not fell from her lips. Jamie said well it’s a pool party you see, and Lisa quickly interrupted and said that’s ok I love to swim. All of the girls in the group looked at each other with an uncomfortable expression upon their face. Jamie stuttered a bit as she said well you are too big to wear a bathing suit so we just wanted to save you the embarrassment. Just then the bell rang for them to get to class, and all the girls ran off in different directions.

The Cold Barn
The Cold Barn Waking up to a beam of sun burning through his eye lid, John could already feel the pain in his bones. Attempting to stretch his legs he felt his foot brush against his sister’s head. He could feel her begin to squirm around, because of his actions. I best get up John thought before I wake them all up. He looked around at his family all huddled together in the hay. He could see the snow coming in through every hole in the wood of this old barn. He walked over and moved a bale of hay out of the spot where there was a huge hole and headed through the snow towards the field. He could see that there was no hope for warmth today, because no one had dropped any wood into their yard. Some days other people in the village took pity on them and would give donations of food or wood, but this snow had made it so it had been many days since they had any sign of help.

Finding Myself
I just recently got out of a really bad marriage, and during that journey I realized I had lost myself. I know that sounds kind of cliche, but it was so true. That is actually what helped me to get out of the horrible situation I was in. It took one simple question to really open my eyes, and make me say I can’t do this anymore. I was at work, and someone asked me what my favorite song was. That was the simple question that pushed me into finally escaping my prison. I thought long and hard about that question, but I could not figure out an answer. The reason I did not have an answer was, because I was gone. I did not know what I even liked any more. My ex-wife had sucked every bit of who I was away from me. Her verbal abuse and masterminded manipulation had taught me to shut down. I had become a shell of a human being, and I lived for many years in what I consider auto pilot.

The Crew and the Magic House
Once upon a time there was a young turtle that lived deep in the woods named Saturn. He woke up each morning with a smile upon his face, and nothing but excitement for the day. This particular morning the sun was peeking through the leaves of the tree, and shinning right on to his face. Saturn was so excited that the day was finally here, the day that he would get to see some of his friends. He jumped out of bed and ran down the hallway of his tiny home to the bathroom where he brushed his teeth. He pulled his best shirt down over his head, and slid his feet into his brand new pair of sneakers. He was humming a tune, as he tied his shoes as quickly as he could. No time to waste this morning, Saturn thought. He grabbed some greens and strawberries out of his refrigerator and threw them into his shirt pocket as he ran towards the door.

Then There Were None
Looking down at the blood running off of his arm, it was in this moment that Michael realized they might be the only ones left. Breathing in deep through his nose, all he could smell was the sweet scent of blood in the air. With a loud boom of his voice he released all of his emotion into the air, it sounded like a mighty battle cry. The sound echoed through the almost soulless universe. The other men matched his mighty roar, bellowing their own screams through the fog of the early hours. Tonight we shall feast upon the hearts of our most prize possessions, Michael yelled to the rest of the army. It was then that he grabbed the heart from the girl he saved for last, and let his teeth tare through the still warm organ. He had the heart shaped locket that had been around her neck clenched in his fist as he consumed her.
