The End of The World As We Know It
The end of the world was a lot more mundane than I would have ever anticipated. Maybe it's the fault of the movies and comic books that I've been reading and watching since my adolescence. It could also be the news or the man who used to stand at the corner of Market Street yelling about the retribution and how the Lord will curse us all for our hedonistic desires. I used to stand by the Burger King outside and watch him while I waited for my friends to go shopping. He would yell for hours at a time, never resting nor changing the intensity or conviction in his words no matter how disinterested the techies and tourists who passed by him staring down at their phones appeared in his presence.

The Worst
I have a confession to make out of all my friends I'm the least talented. I can't stay in tune and my sense of rhythm fluctuates with my feelings. I can't draw very well and my writing is full of grammatical liberties.

Reverse Immigration
My first day at the job I was lectured by another teacher for wearing shoes inside the school. He scolded me in a language familiar, yet completely foreign to my ears. I was late getting on the bus, so it didn't phase me in the slightest. I remember hearing him laugh later on with the other teachers thinking that I was another student. I laughed too. I was fresh out of college and everything about my face and features looked the same as them. It was reassuring knowing that for once in my life everyone else around me looked like me.
