The Dragon Bond
There weren’t always dragons in the valley. In fact, there weren't any magical creatures in the valley. Until 18 years ago the only magical or fantastic beast in existence was the colorful dragonfly that hovered over flowerbeds and the little hummingbirds that flitted around with magical speed. Dragons? No, there weren't always dragons in the valley.

Dear Hope
*Part 2 of “The Chaotic Witch” series* Lucinda was washing the dishes from breakfast and watching over Hope who was playing outside through the window above the sink. It was a beautiful day and Hope had been badgering her to be let out to play for hours. She finally gave in and allowed her to play in the yard where she could keep an eye on her from inside. There was so much to do between the laundry, cleaning, and lunch. She couldn’t afford to just go outside to play!

The Rebirth of Balance
*Part 1 of “The Chaotic Witch” series* The country was peaceful. Calm and serenity ruled here and it had been so for a hundred years. It is said that the land was protected from chaos by a spell, put in place by a powerful witch 500 years ago. Since then, no witch has been known. No scent of power, not a rustling of magic. The wise townspeople said that the protection spell was so powerful that it nullified any power that existed at the time, and blocked any power that could arise now.

Wrapped in a Blanket of Taboo
It was the last concert, in a series of Christmas concerts at the local church that had been going on for the last 2 months, every Saturday and Sunday evening. She was exhausted. Tired of putting on that horrible get up which consisted of a red button-down blouse that looked like one her oldest aunt would have worn back in the 90's. You know the one, 100% polyester high collard church blouse. To pair with the lovely red blouse, she had to wear a black skirt that fell just above the knees. Because it’s a church event and you can't show too much skin.

Freedom
The bull was furious, raging. You could hear the anger in his huffing breath. You could see its rage in the way it pawed at the ground. It was angry because it couldn't get out, because it was being taunted by humans. It was being taunted and mistreated by the very people the bull relied on for food, shelter; the very same people that healed it when it was hurt. They kept it locked up in that pen, and it was furious.

It was twilight on a Friday evening. You know, that time when the sun is setting and the moon is starting to glow. It's not quite dark and yet not quite light. It is the moment in time when everything seems to hover. Like that instance when you find yourself hovering between life and death.

Awakening
"Need any help?” I turned around and saw a tall man standing behind me. I was at the bar trying to get the bartender's attention for the last 20 mins. It was really busy and the bar was crowded. The bartender seemed overwhelmed with all the people yelling at him. I'm a quiet person, and not very good at getting people's attention. So, I was just waiting for the bartender to get to me. I wasn't in a rush, but after 20 mins, I was definitely getting impatient.
