The Pouring-Down Rain
She dashed out her front door, across her porch and down the steps into the cold pouring-down rain. Having heard the roar of it on her metal roof, she got the idea: rain washes everything away. So, she’d run to it, to the glorious prospect of being cleansed of everything: of today, of yesterday. Of all the nights she’d cried herself to sleep, wishing on unreachable stars, hoping impossible hopes.

Handy Manny: Call Manny for Murder
Manny and the tools wasted no time in getting to Mr. Lopart’s Candy Store. At the entrance they saw that the lights in the main part of the store were out, but looking further back, Manny could see the glow of lights. He opened the door, and the jingling of the bell that hung overhead startled him and the tools. When a few of them gasped in surprise, he made a shushing gesture, and grabbed the bell so it made no more noise.

Handy Manny: Call Manny for Murder

Handy Manny: Call Manny for Murder
Honestly this is listed under Fan Fiction but it’s more or less satire. The sun rose cheerily on a new day in Sheetrock Hills. The lovely warm weather brought out the singing of the birds, and the suns rays woke the blooming flowers.

Handy Manny: Call Manny for Murder
*a long time ago, I was sleep deprived with an infant, and I wrote a short story based on a kids show I’d seen a million episodes of. It got BIG on Wattpad. So big I thought I deleted my account from all the notifications. Nothing I’ve ever written before or since got so many views. Ugh. Enjoy?*

The Shimmering Queen and The River Gleam
The river ran backwards on the day the Queen vanished. That was almost one hundred years ago. Few people are still alive to remember. The wealthy and royals, who have access to the lifespan lengthening potions and spells, of course. What is remembered by the masses is what happened because of it. When the river started to run backward, all the people whose lives depended on the water the river brought to the land were the ones who suffered. The river used to run the length of the continent, carrying water from snowcapped mountains in the north, washing down nutrients that fed crops, and then emptying into the Sea of Shimmers. Over the course of nearly a century, the south lost its luster, the Sea of Shimmers grew dark and crops that fed thousands struggled and eventually died. Animals too.
