CFL Week 5 Recap: Black Sheep
Week 5 of the 2022 CFL season only consisted of three games due to 3/4 of the East Division being idle. So all three games emanated from the Western half of Canada, beginning with this season's second Battle of Alberta meeting...which was over at opening kickoff. The Calgary Stampeders defeated the Edmonton Elks by a score of 49-6. Yes, you read that right: 49-6. Blowout games like this are immensely uneventful, but if there was any highlight, it was Peyton Logan returning a missed field goal 122 yards all the way! That's the beauty of the CFL, you see numbers like 122 when it comes to returns. Other than that, it was basically the Elks being picked apart by their provincial rivals.

Villainess Review: Mary Howell Dannon (Remington Steele)
Decades, a cable channel that (similar to MeTV and Antenna) airs nothing but classic TV, often has a "Weekend Binge," where a weekend long block of a certain show airs nonstop. Recently, Decades' show of choice was Remington Steele, a show I've been familiar with for a long time. The series ran for five seasons between 1982 and 1987, and regarding the synopsis, well, I'll just borrow from the words of one of the main characters, Laura Holt:

Pros and Cons: Lacey Evans' Heel Turn
The latest edition of SmackDown was the first to take place following WWE's Money In The Bank event, which saw (among other things) Liv Morgan win the briefcase, and then use it on the same night to become the new SmackDown Women's Champion. We were treated to an appearance by Liv, followed by a grudge match between Ronda Rousey and Natalya, but that was not the only bit of women's action, as we were originally set to have a tag team contest pitting Lacey Evans and Aliyah against Shotzi Blackheart and Shayna Baszler.

Villainess Review: Angeline Dilworth (Monk)
I remember the promotion for Monk's eighth and final season in 2009 very well, and I also remember the final year's episodes being very intriguing, with "Mr. Monk and the Voodoo Curse" being no exception. The episode started at a Little League baseball game, which saw an accidental fatality: an elderly woman killed by a fly ball. The victim's name was Martha Moxley, and as Adrian Monk and his group were at the scene, they stumped on to something very peculiar: a voodoo doll. This would not be an isolated occurrence; another accidental death occurred later on: Ralph Ferris was struck by lightning while golfing, and at the scene, yes, a voodoo doll.

CFL Week 4 Recap: Wide Left
Week 4 of the 2022 CFL season saw the campaign enter the month of July, which is still quite early in the season. All four games in the Week 4 schedule were West vs East, and as the results showed, the disparity between the two divisions is very strong. The week started in the Canadian Capital, with the Ottawa Redblacks hosting the BC Lions, and it was surprisingly close. There were moments where the Redblacks seemed to be on the verge of pulling off the upset, but despite this, BC hung on, winning 34-31.

Villainess Review: Nancy (A Mother Knows Worst)
I remember the very day I watched this film on Lifetime, and I'm still amazed by the twists and turns that I saw that evening. A Mother Knows Worst (also known as Broken Cradle and A Deadly Lullaby) began with two couples set to welcome children: Olivia and Harry Davis, and their friends, Brooke and Glen Wilson. The Davises welcomed their child, a girl, which was handed to head nurse Nancy, only for the couple to receive the tragic news that their newborn suddenly passed on. The Wilsons also had a daughter of their own, which they named Sienna, and life afterwards saw Olivia cope with losing her baby, with Nancy serving as Olivia's means of emotional support.

17 Going On 18...and in Danger (Part 2)
"Hello, Veronica." Jillian Rosen gave her chilly greeting to her teenage stepdaughter, Veronica "Ronnie" Hartnett, who was tied up and gagged in the trunk of Jillian's car, which Jillian drove to an isolated area late at night. "Oh, I'm so sorry," Jillian said sarcastically, "I shouldn't call you Veronica, right? I should call you 'Ronnie'! I always hated your father for coddling you so much. Trapping me into that marriage, forcing me to be a mother for a brat like you. I deserve to be in the lap of luxury, not to be saddled to you for the rest of my life!"

MLB June 2022 Review
June is a pretty vital month in the Major League Baseball season, even if it is early in the year. The month of June is the final month before baseball's All-Star Break, which is a pivotal point of the season, as it pretty much determines who has a shot at the postseason, who will win their divisions, and who needs to do a lot to cross the playoff line. While all of that is still down the line, the month of June was quite memorable. Here are the key occurrences.

Villainess Review: Shauna Teague (Diagnosis Murder)
The classic CBS series, Diagnosis Murder, has pleased this avid fan of villainesses immensely. The show delivered a pretty impressive collection of female baddies, as I noticed when I watched some of the reruns on TV, but one of the best ones was featured in the episode, "Murder by the Book." The episode kicked off with a book signing attended by Mark Sloan, Jesse Travis, and Amanda Bentley, with the featured book being titled, Munchies, Snacks, and Spreads. Because of the title, Mark believes it's a cookbook co-written by a friend of his, Melissa Farnes, but he learns from Amanda that it is definitely not that.

A Look at the Tampa Bay Lightning's Three-Year Run
As a diehard hockey fan, I really enjoyed this insane run from the Tampa Bay Lightning. It was something that hadn't been seen in the NHL in nearly four decades; going to three straight Stanley Cup Finals. It was an absolutely fun sight to see, and to think, in the first few years after losing the Cup Final in 2015, the Lightning actually had problems getting it done when it counted. The year after saw the Bolts in the Eastern Conference Final, but they lost a seven-game thriller to the Pittsburgh Penguins, while 2017 saw them out of the playoffs entirely. In 2018, the Lightning reached the Eastern Conference Final and led 3-2 after five games, but they suddenly forgot how to score--getting shutout in both Games Six and Seven by the Washington Capitals.

CFL Week 3 Recap: Thrown to the Lions
So the third week of the 2022 CFL season was an interesting week for this sports fan. Of course, the week clashed with Game Five of this year's Stanley Cup Final, but I was able to catch a good bit of the action from Week 3. The week kicked off in Montréal, Quebec, as their Alouettes hosted the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who were looking to improve to 3-0. That would not be the case for the Riders, as they were blasted, 37-13, by the Als, marking the Riders' first dent in their plans to play the Grey Cup in their home city of Regina.

Stanley Cup Final Game Six: After 21 Years.... Top Story - June 2022.
Where were you on June 9, 2001? You know where I was? I was in my living room watching Game Seven of the Stanley Cup Final between the Colorado Avalanche and the New Jersey Devils. I watched as Alex Tanguay scored those two goals (one in the first, one in the second), and Joe Sakic put one in as well. I watched as the Avs won 3-1 and captured the Stanley Cup, and I remember that feeling so well. I wanted it again. Fast forward 21 years and 17 days, and that feeling returned.
