2022 Wild Card Series Preview
The MLB Postseason is here! I've always enjoyed baseball's playoffs, I love everything about it, even the little things, such as MLB using the word "postseason" instead of "playoffs." Out of the three leagues that use a series format, MLB has the shortest postseason; the quest to crown a champion takes under a month with very few days off. This year begins the modified postseason that was made official during the lockout in March and April of this year, which features the 12 best teams participating in this round robin tournament. The single-game Wild Card round that has opened the postseason since 2012 is now changed to a best-of-three Wild Card Series, with one series pitting the #3 seed (the lowest division champion) against the #6 seed (the lowest Wild Card), while the other series features the other two Wild Cards (seeded #4 and #5).

Villainess Review: Veruca (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Hard to believe that Buffy the Vampire Slayer turns 30 this year. The original movie came out in 1992 and starred Kristy Swanson in the title role, and among the cult classic's cast included David Arquette, Donald Sutherland, and the late, great Luke Perry. It was five years later that The WB gave us a TV series under the same title, with Sarah Michelle Gellar in the title role that would serve as her first breakout hit and lead her to huge things in her career. She was not the only breakout star from the series; Alyson Hannigan (Willow) went on to do American Pie and also star as Lily Aldrin on How I Met Your Mother, and Seth Green (Oz) would begin a long run as the voice of Chris Griffin on Family Guy, as well as create the hit Adult Swim series, Robot Chicken.

Phillies Complete 2022 Postseason Field
When the Seattle Mariners ended their 21-year postseason drought on September 30, 2022, the Philadelphia Phillies ended up becoming the new owners of the longest current postseason drought in MLB...for three days. At the time of Seattle's clinch, the Phils were on their own path, and on October 3, 2022, it was completed. The Phillies defeated the Houston Astros, 3-0, to clinch the last overall remaining spot in the 2022 MLB Postseason, and end a drought that lasted 11 years.

NFL Week 4 Recap: We Have to Talk About Tua
The NFL's proverbial elephant in the room? It had been there for decades, but it was ignored in the name of the shield and in the name of the sport. What transpired in the Miami Dolphins' Week 3 matchup with the Buffalo Bills would have been ignored if they had taken the right steps to protect the health and well being of their quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa. Tua was lit up during the game, he had clear concussion problems, yet he was sent out there within an instant to finish the game. Even so, the right route in the few days leading to the Thursday night game that kicked off Week 4? Sit Tua. That's all they had to do.

CFL Week 17 Recap: Jockeying For Positions
The CFL calendar has now turned to the month of October, which is always the final full month of the regular season. October features the last holiday of the season: Canadian Thanksgiving, which is always on the second Monday and has football scheduled. It is also the month where the last pieces of the Grey Cup Playoff puzzle are filled, and entering Week 17, two spots remain, as Week 16 saw the BC Lions, the Toronto Argonauts, and the Calgary Stampeders clinch playoff spots.

Seattle Parties Like It's 2001
The date was Friday, September 30, 2022. After the New York Yankees game ended, I saw the ESPN ticker and noticed that the Seattle Mariners were in the bottom of the ninth tied at one, so I switched to MLB Network to see the Mariners at bat. The reason is simple: the Mariners could clinch a postseason berth that evening. Carlos Santana came up short, leaving Cal Raleigh to come to the plate with two outs--one out away from extra innings. I was pulling for a walk-off HR, because it would be so fitting if the long suffering of Mariners fans would end on one swing. Sure enough, that's what happened. Raleigh's shot went long, it went far, and it hit the foul pole. When that ball hit the foul pole, the 21-year itch came to an epic end.

She-Hulk Review: "The Retreat"
We have finally entered the bottom one-third of She-Hulk, with the previous episode seeing Jen engage in a budding relationship with Josh Miller, who she met while attending the wedding of her childhood friend, which also saw Jen engage in another encounter with Titania. All the while, Nikki learned about the existence of Intelligencia, a sinister faction who targets superhumans, with intent on harming and even killing them, and She-Hulk is no exception.

Yankees Are Beasts of the East. Top Story - September 2022.
On September 27, 2022, the New York Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-2, to clinch the American League East for the 20th time in franchise history, and the first time since 2019. Divisional play began in 1969, with the American and National Leagues divided into two divisions: East and West (the Central Divisions were formed in 1994). It wasn't until 1976 that the Yankees won the AL East for the first time, but despite that long wait, the Yankees' 20 division titles are the most in the division's history, with the Boston Red Sox being second with 10, which is half of the total of their hated rivals.

NFL Week 3 Recap: The Two 12s
Similar to literally every football fan in existence, I had Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season circled on my (mental) calendar for the very same reason: Packers vs Buccaneers. A battle between a pair of hallowed quarterbacks in Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, possibly the final battle of their careers, unless the fates allow them to clash in January. For this Packers fan, it was an opportunity to get off a small schnide against the Brady Bucs, as both meetings went the way of Tampa Bay. The meetings both took place in the 2020 season, with the first one being in Tampa Bay, but the damning one was the NFC Championship at Lambeau--a 31-26 victory by the Bucs.

Reviewing a Pair of Surprise Villainesses from "Francesca Quinn, P.I."
The date is September 25, 2022, I am still beaming over the Green Bay Packers' victory (as ugly as it was) over the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and I complete my day by watching Hallmark Movies & Mysteries' latest film, Francesca Quinn, P.I., which stars Mallory Jensen in the title role. I remember learning about this film and beaming, because HM&M had been lacking on the mystery end lately. This was their first mystery film in five months, and their usual film series have been MIA. Another thing I couldn't help but notice was the casting; it was quite refreshing for me to see Mallory Jensen in a heroic role--in the few times I've seen her, she's played her share of evil roles on shows such as Galavant and Marvel's Agents of SHIELD.

MLB Pennant Race 2022: The Final 10 Days
We are down to the final 10 days of the 2022 MLB season, and so much is left to be decided. The past week saw quite a few developments in the pennant races, as well as a historic moment involving a future first-ballot Hall of Famer. Let's get to that first:

CFL Week 16 Recap: A Successful Playoff Push
Week 16 is the last three-game week of the 2022 CFL season, but so much was up for grabs. Entering this week, only the Winnipeg Blue Bombers had locked in a playoff spot, but they were idle this week after suffering their second loss of the season. Despite this, they could still lock in a home playoff game with help elsewhere, and this was one of many playoff scenarios for Week 16, which were as follows:
