NFL Week 8 Recap: Going South
Week 8 began with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers facing the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football, and that outing was not a good one for the Bucs. They found themselves dominated by the Ravens defense, as the Bucs couldn't do a thing until it was too late. The Bucs lost, 27-22, which is their third straight loss--a trait that is very foreign to Tom Brady. So why am I mentioning this with the main photo centering the Atlanta Falcons? It's simple. Because of Tampa Bay's loss, the Falcons and the Carolina Panthers' head to head game was for first place in the NFC South.

NHL October 2022 Review
The 2022-23 National Hockey League season got off to a very exciting, interesting, and chaotic start; beginning with a pair of games in the Czech Republic just days before things got started in North America. As usual, 32 teams competing, 31 of them hungry for the Stanley Cup, while one team is looking to repeat. The month of October is setting a very wild tone to the season, and here are some of the teams who made some waves in the opening month.

World Series Game Two: A Game of Inches
With their first loss of the 2022 Postseason, the Houston Astros had their backs to the wall. Game Two was a must win for the Astros, because going down 2-0 heading on the road could be certain death for the team. On the flip side, a 2-0 lead would be absolutely golden for the Philadelphia Phillies, as they would face the benefit of not needing to play all three of their home games. The pitching matchup was Framber Valdez (HOU) vs Zack Wheeler (PHI), and for the latter, it was not a good start, as the Astros struck him for three first-inning runs.

CFL Week 21 Recap: Let's Get Nuts!
The 2022 Canadian Football League season ended with a weekend's worth of games that had absolutely no meaning in the standings. This was because the playoff puzzle was completed during Week 20, which saw first place in the East Division wrapped up, and the last playoff spot ended up filled, resulting in the playoff matchups being set in stone. Even with that, the regular season still had to be completed, and though the Edmonton Elks completed their immensely disappointing season (at 4-14), the remaining eight teams still had to finish their campaigns.

Villainess Review: Madison (Supernatural)
Where do I start with Supernatural? Without question, Supernatural is the WB/CW's great series in the network's history, which dates back to 1995. The series debuted in 2005, during the network's final season as The WB, and outlasted many other shows up until its big finale in 2020. It made household names out of stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who played brothers Sam and Dean Winchester, respectively, and overall, the show became immensely legendary as the seasons passed. I myself watched Supernatural sporadically during the first couple of years, but became a regular viewer when Season Three began, and I never looked back.

World Series Game One: An Improbable Comeback
For the second straight year, the World Series got underway in Texas' largest city: Houston. The one difference was the Houston Astros' opponent, as this time, they faced off against the Philadelphia Phillies, and based on the standings alone, this was yet another case of David facing Goliath. The Astros were in their second straight Series, and were looking to win this year to remove a lot of the stench from their tainted 2017 championship. As for the Phillies, they weren't even supposed to be in the playoffs, let alone the World Series. Season declared dead early in the summer, then a change in manager resulted in a great 2nd half and a postseason berth, which saw them go 9-2 en route to their first pennant in 13 years.

2022 World Series Preview
I do enjoy the World Series with a passion, and I say this even as a diehard hockey fan. There has always been a lot of pomp and circumstance surrounding the Fall Classic, which officially debuted all the way back in 1903. During that year, and a brief period between 1919 and 1922, the World Series was actually played under a best-of-nine format, but in the other years, and consistently since 1923, the World Series has been played under a best-of-seven format. Between 1903 and 1968, the World Series served as the only postseason round in Major League Baseball, with the first place teams in the American and National Leagues competing in the Fall Classic. Since 1969, the World Series has been contested between the winners of the American and National League Championship Series, which served as the opening round of the postseason until 1995.

Chucky Review: "Death on Denial"
Wow! What a wild trip! I had been looking forward to this episode, "Death on Denial," for the entire season, and the reasons are so, so many! So this episode gives us very little of the titular homicidal doll, and picks up where the season's second episode left off: with the appearance of Tiffany's twin offspring, Glen and Glenda, who were celebrating their birthday. What started out as a simple family celebration started to go off the rails a bit when Glenda revealed that they had been having vivid dreams of a woman being set on fire, and a man egging them on to kill her, and the visions come in the form of flashback scenes from 2004's Seed of Chucky, with clips of Glenda killing Joan (played by Hannah Spearritt in the film).

A Poignant, Yet Positive Message to All Yankees Fans
To all of my fellow New York Yankees fans...where do I start? Well, it was your typical Yankees season. The team got off to a great start, and I mean, a great start, but a lull in July and August served as a bit of a snag. Even so, the Yankees won the AL East, and before this, I had three simple words: "I want Houston!" I felt that the Yankees owed the Houston Astros some payback for five years prior, and I also felt that it was time for the Yankees to finally overcome the Astros in the postseason. When the Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians in a five-game ALDS, it set up this inevitable meeting for the pennant.

NFL Week 7 Recap: Actual Scoring on Thursday Night?!
You know, one thing I've been mixed on is the opinions on Thursday Night Football games. Here's the thing: during the NFL season, I love Thursday, because it begins a new week of in-game action, and regarding Thursday games, the two special Thursday dates are Opening Day (which always features the defending Super Bowl Champions) and, of course, Thanksgiving (which features a Detroit Lions game, a Dallas Cowboys game, and a special primetime game). Those aren't the games that get the scrutiny.

What Went Wrong: Cinderella Eliminates Cinderella
The San Diego Padres desperately needed to make up for their immensely disappointing 2021 season, which saw them on the outside looking in despite having pretty big expectations. 2021 saw the Los Angeles Dodgers (the defending World Champions) favored to win the National League West, and those who didn't pick the Dodgers believed that the Padres would get it done. Instead, the San Francisco Giants ended up taking the West, the Dodgers got a Wild Card spot, and as for the Padres, well, they completely fizzled. Part of their problem was the season ending injury suffered by their star player, Fernando Tatis, Jr., and regarding this season, they ended up without Tatis again, but this time, it was a drug policy violation that resulted in an 80-game suspension--which will continue entering the 2023 season.

CFL Week 20 Recap: The Playoff Puzzle is Complete
It seems like yesterday that the 2022 CFL season began, it really does. Despite the fact that Canada's version of the sport is three weeks longer than the American version, it's still a sprint to the finish line. The season enters its 20th and penultimate week, and despite this, everything can be wrapped up with one week left to spare. Five of the six spots in this year's Grey Cup Playoffs are clinched, but there was still the remaining spot left, as well as key positioning. The scenarios were as follows:
